Wyandot Lake
After the day at Cedar Point, the pacing of the trip took a turn for the worst. Up until that point the parks had all been fairly close to each other, particularly through Pennsylvania. Now the parks would become more further apart, meaning more time on the coach, early starts and late arrivals. To help us get an opportunity for some rest we had an easy half day at Wyandot Lake.
Wyandot Lake is a Six Flags park but an announcement had been made by Mr. Shapiro that it would be sold off. Fortunately there is a zoo next door that has bought the park. It's primarily a water park with a few park rides added to it to add a bit of variety to the day.
Interesting Sign #19
"No active swimming or horseplay".
Isn't all swimming by definition "active"? When they build a lazy river, boy do they enforce it as such.
The single coaster in the park is the Sea Dragon, which Justin is modelling beautifully here! Olov clearly is feeling the effects from the early start, either that or he made sure he made the most of his time in Cedar Point. The ride is alright. You can't read it from this shot but the water cooler in the background had been adjusted to read "Sea Dragster", trying to ride on Cedar's coat tails perhaps?
As well as the coaster there is a small selection of spin rides.
I was riding this one with Chris who was on another arm of the ride and I kept laughing at him. Understandably perplexed he asked what I found so funny. Then I told him how cool it would have been to have been armed with water balloons or eggs and to be able to release them just as he flew past. I'm easily amused!
The water park part of the park (try saying that when you're drunk) is actually really impressive. They actually have two water parks, seperated by the coaster.
The most popular attraction in the park was the go-kart racing. After a quick go it was time to leave however as we were to make our way to King's Island.
Wyandot is an alright park and it is good to see that its future is secure. A significant amount of cash has been earmarked to make improvements to the park, which can only be a good thing. Lets see how it develops under its new owners.
South West to Kings Island and make it snappy
